About the Role
Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an exceptional Head of Estates to join our team at Tameside Hospital in Ashton-under-Lyne.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking organisation with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality healthcare in safe, sustainable, and patient-focused environments. The opportunity has arisen following the promotion of our current Head of Estates, this reflects both the success of our Estates function and the Trust's ongoing commitment to innovation, transformation, and continuous improvement across our estate and facilities services.
Responsibilities
As Head of Estates, you will be responsible for the strategic and operational management of estates services across the Trust. Working closely with the Executive Team and senior stakeholders, you will provide expert professional advice and leadership, ensuring that our estate remains safe, compliant, efficient, and fit for the future.
You will play a key role within the Estates and Facilities Directorate, supporting senior colleagues to deliver high-quality environments that enhance the experience of our patients, visitors, and staff. This role offers the opportunity to influence major programmes of work, drive service improvement, and contribute to the Trust's wider organisational objectives.

The post holder is responsible for the overall management of all Estates operations (Building, Engineering, Maintenance Helpdesk, Fire, Waste, estates informatics, catering engineering & Sustainability). This includes the hospital and community sites that our organisation works from.
- Delivery of the service within allocated budget, whilst identifying Divisional pressures and contributing to the Directorate TEP’s.
- Liaising with Senior, Clinical & Departmental Managers to develop Estates services in accordance with national standards, mandatory controls and the Trust's corporate policies and strategies.
- Provide expert specialist and professional construction, building and or engineering advice to other estates staff, directors, senior management and other associated stakeholders.
