Head of Estates Finance

Head of Estates Finance is a senior leadership role providing strategic financial oversight across a substantial property and investment portfolio. Working closely with executive stakeholders, you'll lead financial planning, investment appraisal, governance and performance management, helping to deliver major capital programmes, optimise asset value and drive long-term commercial and operational success.

Client Details

Our client is a large, complex organisation with an extensive and diverse property portfolio valued in excess of £3 billion. The portfolio includes operational assets, strategic land holdings, investment properties and major development programmes.

With a significant programme of estate investment, redevelopment and infrastructure delivery underway, the organisation is seeking an exceptional finance leader to join the business as Head of Estates Finance.

Description

The Head of Estates Finance will provide strategic financial leadership across a substantial property, estates and development portfolio.

As a key member of the senior leadership team, you will lead the finance function supporting estates, property and capital investment activities, ensuring the delivery of high-quality financial business partnering, governance, planning, reporting and investment appraisal.

You will play a critical role in supporting strategic decision-making, major capital investment programmes and long-term asset planning while ensuring robust financial stewardship across a large and complex estate portfolio.

Working closely with executive stakeholders, boards and external partners, you will provide expert advice on financial performance, investment opportunities, commercial strategy and risk management. The role includes financial oversight of significant development projects, capital programmes and associated commercial entities.

Profile

You will be an accomplished senior finance leader with significant experience operating within a large, complex organisation and a proven ability to influence strategic decision-making at executive level.

You will combine strong technical financial expertise with commercial acumen, leadership capability and exceptional stakeholder management skills. Comfortable operating in a highly collaborative environment, you will have the credibility to challenge, influence and partner with senior leaders and external stakeholders.

Key Requirements:

  • A recognised professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Significant senior financial management experience within a complex public or private sector organisation.
  • Strong experience leading high-performing finance teams and driving organisational change.
  • Expertise in financial planning, reporting, governance, controls and risk management.
  • Significant experience supporting major investment programmes, capital projects and large-scale business cases.
  • Extensive CAPEX and OPEX management experience within a capital-intensive environment.
  • Strong commercial awareness and experience evaluating investment opportunities and asset performance.
  • Excellent communication, influencing and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical capability and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to translate complex financial information into clear, practical recommendations for senior stakeholders.

Job Offer
