The Role
We are searching for a seasoned Head of Marketing to oversee two of our most important growth markets outside of the UK—Spain and Germany. This individual will work closely with the central global teams to set direction and lead the in-market teams in the execution of world-class omnichannel brand building as we scale into Europe.
Reporting directly to the Chief Brand and Creative Officer, this person will be the connector between global strategy and in-market teams, translating global needs and bringing them to life in powerful, locally relevant, and highly effective marketing plans that drive true brand engagement and accelerate growth. This is a role for a visionary, ambitious, and creative marketer ready to bring the future of wellness to Europe.
What You'll Do
- Own the EU marketing strategy
- Interpret the global business plan into clear market-level plans designed to deliver the business vision efficiently and effectively
- Work in partnership with in-market teams and cross-functional omnichannel teams to translate marketing strategy into a high-impact cross-channel brand plan in Spain and Germany, which builds brand strength and generates unreasonable demand
- Ensure marketing is reflective of the core brand and vision but is translated with cultural fluency and impact in each market
- Develop a deep understanding of the markets and identify and realize opportunities to unlock new growth in each.
Lead the in-market teams
- Lead and develop established teams in Spain and Germany, setting the bar for the quality and ambition of their work
- Work with global functions across talent, events, partnerships, PR, and brand creative to create cohesive cross-functional plans that come together as greater than the sum of their parts, ensuring the system works as one
- Drive innovative thinking into market plans, thinking smartly to use a finite budget to drive exceptional outcomes and to support omnichannel growth across retail, DTC, and Amazon.
- Select, brief, and lead local agency partners, making them part of a high-performing market team aligned to the same goals
- Create the conditions for brilliant people to do their best work every day and help all of the team to grow in confidence, clarity, and skill and build their careers as we build the brand
- Turn brand activity into measurable demand, with a clear view of what is working in each market and why

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Be the voice for Europe
- Represent Spain and Germany at the marketing leadership level, bringing market insight into global marketing decisions on brand, product, and channel and working cross-functionally with omnichannel leads to ensure a coherent plan.
- Bring category, competitor, and cultural intelligence from both markets into global rooms, not only taking our brand to market but bringing market insight to the brand as inspiration
- Work closely with global brand, digital, operations, and retail teams so campaigns land as one brand across markets
Who You Are
To be successful in this role, you will need the following skills, knowledge, or experience:
- Fluent in Spanish or German (ideally both) you are able to converse and engage with the team, agencies, talent, and work in the language
- A proven leader of marketing teams: you have demonstrable experience hiring, developing, and retaining strong people who love being part of your team
- Experience growing brands in international or non-home markets within high-growth businesses from the ground up.
- A strong background in premium brand and lifestyle marketing, with sharp instincts for consumer behavior and the evidence to back them
- Demonstrable success in DTC-led retail businesses, ideally within wellness, beauty, or lifestyle
- Deep experience with influencer and talent-led marketing, PR, partnerships, and grassroots events
- A clear and nuanced understanding of the needs of start-up businesses and experience of delivering for them in their nascent stages of growth.
- You are comfortable operating at leadership level: and adept at both representing the needs of your market and plan, you are a powerful team player but also able to disagree well, and commit fully once decisions are made
- Culturally fluent, you are able to represent a brand within a market (not changing a brand for a market), but you also understand cultural nuance, have an innate sense of the small tweaks that make an international brand feel welcome locally, and are brilliant at enabling teams to unlock opportunities as a result
- You are entrepreneurial, leading small teams powerfully and with confidence. Ambiguity does not slow you down, and you make things happen at pace in fast-changing environments
- You lead by raising ambition, and the people who have worked for you would say so
- You are highly collaborative, with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Further, to truly thrive at Ancient + Brave, you will need to embody the spirit of our brand and align with our company culture. For us, that is a series of shared beliefs:
