This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in developing Marcliffe’s experience offering, creating new ideas, partnerships and activations that engage guests, drive revenue and strengthen our position within the local and wider hospitality market.
Reporting to the Director of Sales, you will lead the development and delivery of an engaging calendar of experiences, working closely with teams across the hotel to bring ideas to life. This is a hands-on role with plenty of scope for creativity, new development and commercial thinking.
If you’re someone who enjoys spotting opportunities, building relationships and turning ideas into experiences that people want to enjoy, we’d love to hear from you.
The opportunity
As Head of Experiences, you will develop and deliver Marcliffe’s experience strategy, identifying opportunities across hospitality, events, lifestyle and the local market.
Working closely with the Director of Sales and wider hotel team, you will create experiences, packages and partnerships that enhance guest engagement while contributing to the commercial performance of the business.
You’ll have the opportunity to bring new ideas to the table, explore emerging trends and help shape an evolving programme of experiences as Marcliffe continues to develop.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and deliver Marcliffe’s experience strategy and annual calendar of events, activations and experiences.
- Identify new and emerging opportunities within the hospitality, lifestyle and experience sectors.
- Develop commercially viable experiences, packages and partnerships that drive guest engagement, footfall and revenue.
- Work closely with Food & Beverage, Spa, Front Office, Operations and other departments to develop and deliver integrated experiences.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local businesses, suppliers, partners and stakeholders.
- Lead the planning and execution of experience-led initiatives, ensuring a seamless and engaging guest experience.
- Monitor guest feedback, commercial performance and market trends to continually refine and improve the experience offering.
- Represent Marcliffe at relevant networking events, industry functions and within the local community.
- Work closely with the Director of Sales to identify local and regional business opportunities.
- Manage experience-related budgets, costs, margins and return on investment, working alongside the Financial Controller.
- Ensure all experiences reflect Marcliffe’s brand identity and SHINE values.
- Support the wider Sales & Events team with enquiries, event coordination and departmental administration as required.
- Drive accommodation as a key revenue stream, staying ahead of market trends, developing targeted promotions, and identifying opportunities to maximise occupancy and revenue.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
