Are you an experienced facilities leader who enjoys being close to the operation, developing people and improving how things are done?
We’re recruiting a Head of Facilities for a major live entertainment venue in Nottingham. Hosting concerts, sporting events and large public experiences, this is a busy, highly visible environment where safety, reliability and service standards really matter.
This is not a desk-based FM or contractor-management position. You’ll lead predominantly directly employed teams across engineering, maintenance, cleaning and event support, with the authority to improve standards, strengthen procedures and develop a more proactive maintenance operation.
You’ll take overall responsibility for the venue’s facilities operation, including:
- Leading and developing directly employed facilities and technical teams
- Owning the planned preventative maintenance strategy
- Improving asset reliability and reducing reactive maintenance
- Creating and embedding SOPs and consistent operating standards
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety, statutory testing and life-safety requirements
- Building team capability through training, coaching and clear expectations
- Working closely with event teams to support safe and efficient event turnarounds
- Managing budgets, resources, suppliers and operational performance
- Driving continuous improvement across the venue and wider estate

What We’re Looking For
You’ll be an established facilities, estates or operational leader with experience managing technical and operational teams in a complex environment.
You’ll ideally bring:
- Senior facilities, estates, engineering or venue-operations experience
- Experience leading directly employed, multi-disciplinary teams
- Strong knowledge of PPM, asset management and building services
- Experience creating SOPs and structured operating procedures
- Good knowledge of health and safety, compliance and statutory maintenance
- A visible, coaching-led leadership style
- Strong budget, resource and performance-management skills
- The confidence to challenge, improve and introduce new ideas

Experience within live entertainment, arenas, stadiums, hospitality, leisure, visitor attractions or another high-footfall venue would be particularly relevant. However, applications are also welcome from facilities leaders working in other complex, customer-facing operations.
IOSH, NEBOSH or a relevant facilities, engineering or building-services qualification would be advantageous.
