About This Role
We are seeking an ambitious, motivated and forward-thinking leader to take on the role of Head of Faculty, Vocational Studies, driving excellence across our vocational curriculum. Ideally, you will already be an experienced middle leader working within this faculty.
Working closely with the Heads of Department for Business and Computing, Health and Social Care, and PE, you will play a key role in strengthening leadership, improving teaching and learning, and raising achievement across the faculty.
What will you do?
- Drive improvement: Lead departmental self-evaluation and use findings to shape, monitor and review improvement plans.
- Champion quality: Quality assure teaching, learning and staff practice to ensure consistently high standards.
- Develop people: Lead appraisal, set and review leadership targets, and support the professional development of Heads of Department.
- Raise achievement: Monitor pupil outcomes, data and intervention strategies to secure positive progress.
- Ensure excellence: Act as the Centre’s BTEC Quality Nominee, promoting best practice and ensuring effective management of BTEC programmes.
- Engage stakeholders: Provide clear, timely reports to SLT and Governors, and liaise with the ESF Trust as required.

Who are we looking for?
An inspiring and organised leader with a strong commitment to high-quality teaching and learning, effective self evaluation and continuous improvement. You will have the skills to motivate colleagues, challenge practice constructively and build a culture of high expectations and positive outcomes for all pupils. The successful applicant will be an experienced teacher, likely working at middle leadership level already and within the open subject faculty.
