The Role
As Head of F&B, you will lead the planning and operational delivery of catering and hospitality services, ensuring every event is executed to the highest standards of quality, service and profitability. Working closely with clients, venue stakeholders and internal teams, you will drive operational excellence, maximise commercial performance, and create memorable experiences while developing a high-performing team culture.
The Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end planning and delivery of catering and hospitality services across the Great Yorkshire Event Centre and Outside Catering events, ensuring exceptional client and customer experiences.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, venue stakeholders and internal departments to ensure seamless event delivery and effective communication at every stage.
- Take ownership of operational and financial performance, delivering venue targets, KPI achievement, accurate forecasting, event reporting, billing documentation, and identifying opportunities to increase revenue and profitability.
- Continuously review operational performance, implementing improvements that enhance efficiency, service quality, guest satisfaction and commercial outcomes.
- Recruit, develop and inspire teams through effective leadership, training and open communication, creating a positive, high-performing culture.
- Champion compliance with all company policies, Standard Operating Procedures, food safety, health and safety requirements, sustainability initiatives including Guardians of Grub, and support wider business projects and venue operations as required.
What we're looking for
- Proven experience within event, hospitality or catering management, including leading teams and delivering high-quality events, ideally within an outside catering environment.
- Strong commercial and financial awareness, with experience managing budgets, margins, cost of sales and operational profitability.
- Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and motivate teams.
- Adaptable, proactive and solutions-focused, with the ability to work under pressure while maintaining exceptional service standards.
- Holds a Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification (or equivalent) and is willing to work towards Level 3 certification; First Aid at Work qualification desirable.
- Full UK driving licence and access to own transport, with flexibility to support events across multiple venues when required.
