Head of Finance

Are you a commercially minded finance leader looking for your next senior appointment within a high-growth, international environment?

As the business continues through an exciting period of growth, integration and transformation, they are looking to appoint an experienced Head of Finance to lead the finance function and play a key role in shaping the future direction of the organisation.

The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will take ownership of the organisation's financial strategy, governance and commercial finance agenda, acting as a trusted advisor to the leadership team and Board.

This is much more than a traditional financial control position. You will combine strategic leadership, commercial insight, financial governance and transformation, while working closely with a wider international finance network.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a strategic finance partner to the CEO, leadership team and Board.
  • Lead the Annual Operating Plan, budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Provide insightful analysis around profitability, cash flow, investment and business performance.
  • Lead monthly, quarterly and annual financial close in line with IFRS and group reporting standards.
  • Oversee accounting operations including AP, AR, GL, treasury, tax and cash management.
  • Drive strong financial controls, governance, audit readiness and risk management.
  • Lead the organisation's enterprise risk management and internal control processes.
  • Support major commercial decisions, pricing strategies, investment cases and CAPEX projects.
  • Provide financial modelling and analysis to support strategic initiatives.
  • Partner with commercial teams to identify opportunities for improved profitability and cost control.
  • Ensure appropriate compliance across areas including tax, VAT, transfer pricing and financial controls.
  • Lead and develop a finance team of approximately five people.
  • Drive continuous improvement across finance processes, systems and reporting.
  • Play a key role in wider business integration and finance transformation activity.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for an experienced finance leader who combines strong technical finance capability with genuine commercial and strategic acumen.

You'll ideally have:

  • Significant experience in a senior finance leadership position.
  • A background within aerospace, aviation, industrial, distribution or another complex international environment.
  • A recognised professional accountancy qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent.
  • Strong experience across financial control, reporting, budgeting, forecasting and commercial finance.
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders, Boards and executive leadership teams.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial governance.
  • Experience with ERP systems, ideally SAP, alongside an appetite for finance systems and digital transformation.
  • Excellent analytical and financial modelling skills.
  • Strong understanding of risk, controls, compliance and governance.
  • Proven experience leading, developing and motivating a finance team.
  • The confidence and presence to operate as a genuine strategic business partner.
