Head of Finance – Europe
We are looking for a commercially minded Head of Finance – Europe to lead financial reporting, planning, and analysis across a growing portfolio of lifestyle hotels. This is a hands-on leadership role for a qualified finance professional with deep hospitality experience, sitting at the intersection of strategy, operations, and financial control.
Reporting to the VP of Finance, you will act as a trusted business partner to European hotel operators while leading a small, high-performing finance team. You will be based at their London office and play a key role in driving performance across the region.
This role is office-based, 5 days per week, in Liverpool St.
What You'll Do
Financial Planning, Reporting & Analysis
- Oversee monthly close for European hotel operations, including review of property-level P&Ls, variance analysis, and performance commentary
- Track financial KPIs, benchmark against internal and external data, and identify trends, risks, and opportunities
- Lead monthly reforecasting and annual budgeting processes, aligning plans with wider strategic objectives
- Prepare and present financial insights and reports to senior management and key stakeholders

Business Partnering
- Serve as a key financial partner to General Managers, resolving operational finance issues with urgency
- Collaborate with operational leadership to develop and implement financial strategies that drive profitability
- Support the development and evaluation of business cases for new projects and investments
- Contribute to commercial and sourcing strategies, including tenders and contract negotiations
Financial Control
- Maintain robust financial controls to ensure accuracy of hotel transaction reporting
- Approve financial transactions and authorize bank payments in line with business processes
- Promote financial literacy across the business, ensuring compliance with risk and control frameworks
Leadership
- Directly manage and develop a two-person finance team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement
- Build strong, collaborative relationships across finance, operations, and commercial functions
- Drive cross-functional knowledge sharing and alignment across the broader finance department

What We're Looking For
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- 7+ years of post-qualified experience in finance, with strong exposure to reporting, analytics, and control
- Minimum 5 years' experience in the hotel – essential
- Proven leadership experience, with a track record of managing and developing finance teams
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
- Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel; experience with financial planning tools an advantage
- Solid knowledge of financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal controls
