Head of Finance
A growing, multi-site leisure business is looking for a Head of Finance to lead financial operations across the UK. This is a hands-on leadership role at the heart of a fast-paced, entrepreneurial organisation. You will lead a small finance team, drive strong financial control and partner closely with senior leadership to support commercial decision-making and continued growth.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you will take ownership of the finance function across the division, including:
- Leading, coaching and developing the finance team.
- Overseeing monthly management accounts, KPIs and variance analysis.
- Managing core accounting activities including month-end/year-end close, payroll oversight, balance sheet reconciliations, VAT and statutory reporting.
- Maintaining strong financial controls, governance and audit processes.
- Managing cash flow and supporting working capital and capital planning.
- Partnering with senior leadership to provide commercially focused financial insight.
- Driving process, systems and reporting improvements across multiple locations.

Requirements
You will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with significant post-qualified experience and a track record of operating in a senior finance leadership role.
We are particularly interested in candidates who have worked within leisure, media, hospitality or a similar multi-site, customer-facing environment and understand the pace and commercial dynamics of these sectors.

- Proven experience leading and developing finance teams.
- Strong management accounting, financial control and governance experience.
- Experience within a multi-site and/or high-volume transactional business.
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to turn financial information into meaningful insight.
- Confidence partnering with senior finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the ability to operate at pace.
- Strong Excel and finance systems experience.
