🚨 Hays are delighted to be exclusively partnering with Gloucestershire Gateway Trust in the appointment of their new Head of Finance & Operations. 🚨

This is a unique opportunity to join an organisation that delivers genuine community impact across Gloucestershire while playing a pivotal role in shaping its financial and operational future.

As a key member of the Senior Management Team, you'll lead the organisation's financial strategy whilst remaining hands-on with day-to-day financial operations. You'll also help drive organisational effectiveness through systems, technology, innovation, and continuous improvement.

The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with Trustees and stakeholders, responsibilities will include:

  • Strategic financial leadership and long-term financial planning
  • Ownership of statutory accounts, audit and governance processes
  • Budgeting, forecasting and management reporting
  • Grant, contract and funding management
  • Payroll oversight and management of external providers
  • Leadership of operational functions including IT, risk, insurance and compliance
  • Contributing to organisational strategy as a key member of the Senior Management Team

What We're Looking For

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent)
  • Significant senior finance leadership experience
  • Experience leading statutory accounts and audit processes
  • Strong management accounting and hands-on transactional finance capability
  • Advanced Excel and strong systems skills, including confidence using QuickBooks
  • Comfortable operating in a small organisation where strategic leadership and operational delivery go hand in hand
  • Charity or not-for-profit sector experience would be highly advantageous

📍 Location: Gloucester (GL1) with travel across community sites in Gloucester and the Forest of Dean
💷 Salary: £50,000-£55,000 pro rata
⏰ Hours: 37 hours per week (applications from 30+ hours considered)

This role would suit a qualified finance professional seeking genuine strategic influence whilst remaining close to the numbers, within an organisation where financial leadership directly translates into positive community outcomes.
