Interim Head of Finance
📍 South East England | Hybrid Working
💷 £75,000-£80,000 Pro Rata | 6-Month Fixed-Term Contract
We're seeking an experienced Interim Head of Finance to support a higher education institution through a period of change and transformation.
This is a hands-on leadership role focused on strengthening financial controls, improving processes, driving efficiencies, and supporting the finance function through a significant transformation programme. You'll lead a talented controls team, provide operational and strategic guidance, and ensure robust governance and financial management throughout the transition period.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the financial controls team
- Review and enhance finance processes, controls, and reporting
- Identify and deliver operational efficiencies and improvements
- Support organizational transformation and change initiatives
- Work closely with senior stakeholders to drive best practice and continuous improvement
- Ensure strong governance, compliance, and financial control frameworks
About You
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or CIPFA)
- Proven experience in senior finance leadership roles
- Strong financial controls, governance, and process improvement expertise
- Demonstrable success delivering change and transformation initiatives
- Ability to influence stakeholders and lead teams through periods of change
- Higher education or large, complex organization experience would be advantageous
