We're working with an established and growing consumer business that is looking for an experienced Head of Finance to take ownership of its finance function and play a key role in its next stage of growth.
This is a genuine SME finance leadership role where you will be close to the detail, close to the commercial decisions and have the opportunity to make a visible difference.
The business has strong foundations and an exciting growth opportunity, but finance now needs to evolve with it. Processes need strengthening, reporting needs to become more accurate and commercially useful, and the business needs better financial insight around stock, margin, working capital and performance.
The role
You'll take ownership of the finance function as the Head of Finance to lead the team whilst working closely with the senior leadership team and wider commercial business.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Why this role?
This is an opportunity for someone who really understands SMEs and enjoys having genuine ownership.
You won't be joining to simply maintain an established finance function. You'll have the opportunity to shape it, improve it and leave it materially stronger, whilst becoming a key commercial partner to a growing consumer business.
If you're a finance leader who enjoys getting stuck in, fixing things and seeing the impact of your work, we'd love to hear from you.
