Company Description

The Stable Family Home Trust is a registered charity that supports people with learning disabilities to live as independently as they can and participate within their communities as much as possible. We offer supported living and residential living homes, and day services that offer a wide range of activities and opportunities that support the development of skills, improve confidence and self-esteem, enabling our clients to live their best lives.

Role Description

We are looking for a competent, experienced finance lead to oversee the financial performance of the Trust and ensure that all financial processes are compliant with the financial control requirements of the Charity Commission. As part of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) you will play a key role in achieving the strategic direction and sustainability of the Trust and will have responsibility for all financial functions of the Trust.

  • Work with the Chief Executive and Board of Trustees on setting up a separate entity associated with the Trust e.g. Community Interest Company to manage our housing portfolio in the long-term.

This is a full-time, on-site role based on a beautiful site just outside of Ringwood.

We can only accept applications from candidates that have right to work in the UK and are unable sponsor visas. Closing date is Friday 25th September 2026.

Qualifications

  • Strong finance and accounting expertise, including experience in finance and budgeting
  • Proficiency in preparing and interpreting Financial Statements and Financial Reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data, identify trends, assess risks, and support strategic decision-making.
  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) or substantial relevant experience.
  • Experience with financial controls, audit processes, and compliance.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues and Trustees.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with senior leadership, manage competing priorities, and deliver accurate work to deadlines.
  • Experience in the social care or charity sector, and an understanding of funding models and commissioning is helpful but not essential. Post qualification experience in a commercial environment desirable.
