Lusona Consultancy is retained by our client Link Orthopaedics to recruit a Head of Finance on a permanent basis. Based in Edinburgh, our client offers a hybrid working pattern, 3 days in the office with an annual salary between £60,000 - £70,000 depending on experience.

This is a Qualified Finance role suited to a Commercial Finance professional with strong technical and decision support experience to support a growing SME within the Healthcare sector. The Company

Link Orthopaedics started operations in 1941 with a group turnover of 250 million and 15,000 employees worldwide. The UK business was established 8 years ago and has grown to having 31 employees. With new innovation in healthcare Link have bold expansion plans, this is a brand new role in the Leadership team reporting to the Managing Director.

The Role

The Head of Finance will be responsible for the end-to-end running of Link UK's Finance operations for an 8 million turnover business. The Head of Finance will be responsible for Management Accounting and Financial accounting tasks maintaining a controls framework across the business and developing processes and procedures. The Head of Finance will be responsible for working in partnership with operations including manufacturing, distribution and production, this opportunity will work strategically with production and national sales managers developing profitability models and providing business intelligence to support decision making. There will be occasional travel required quarterly.

This is a "hands on" commercial Finance role with a growing SME where the Head of Finance will ensure technical and commercial foresight is in focus to future proof the business.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and embed financial processes to support daily financial operations, month and year-end activity, and financial planning and analysis, ensuring they are in line with statutory regulations and legislation.
  • Ensure rigorous financial controls are applied across all areas of the business through appropriate policies and procedures, ensuring spend is monitored and kept within budget.
  • Lead the preparation of the annual budget and produce reports and statistics as required.
  • Lead the analysis of monthly and quarterly numbers and present findings to the management team.
  • Deliver year-end process of the Company’s annual report and accounts (leading the external audit) and other external financial reporting as required.
  • Ensure monthly financial accounts and cash flow reports are prepared and sent to the Managing Director.
  • Develop robust financial models to evaluate strategic business decisions and investment opportunities.
  • Produce scenario analysis to support management decision making, modelling the financial impact of different commercial options.
  • Presenting Financial results at national sales meetings and working with transportation, manufacturing and production business units to maximise efficiencies.
  • Management of one direct report.

The Person

  • Qualified Accountant with minimum 2-3 years experience.
  • Strong technical accounting and analysis experience.
  • Manufacturing/Production/stock experience preferable but not essential.
  • Financial modelling and experience with multiple financial systems to improve MI quality.
