Head of Finance (12-Month FTC)

Salary: £60,000
Location: London

We are working with a high-growth specialist insurance business to appoint an experienced Head of Finance on a 12-month fixed-term contract, providing maternity cover.

This is a key senior role with responsibility for leading the finance function, managing a small team and providing commercially focused financial insight to the wider leadership team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the finance function and team.
  • Oversee monthly management accounts, budgeting and forecasting.
  • Manage cash flow, financial controls and reporting.
  • Provide commercial analysis and financial insight to support business decisions.
  • Oversee audit, tax, statutory and regulatory reporting.
  • Manage relationships with external advisers and key stakeholders.
  • Partner with the leadership team on strategic and commercial decision-making.
  • Identify and implement improvements to finance processes, controls and reporting.

About You

  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualified accountant.
  • Proven experience in a senior finance or financial management role.
  • Strong people-management experience, with the ability to lead, support and develop a finance team.
  • Excellent management accounting, reporting and forecasting skills.
  • Commercially minded, analytical and confident working with senior stakeholders.
  • Hands-on, pragmatic and able to work independently.
  • Experience within insurance or financial services would be highly advantageous.
