Head of Finance | Consumer Products

South East England | On-site
£85,000 - £100,000 + benefits

The Opportunity

Talentedge is partnering with an established international consumer products business to appoint a Head of Financial Control.

This is a senior, hands-on finance role supporting a key UK operation within a broader international group. You'll work closely with operational leadership, taking ownership of financial control, reporting, planning and performance while managing a small finance team.

The role would suit someone who enjoys being close to the operation rather than operating purely from a corporate finance environment.

The Role

You'll take broad ownership across financial control and operational finance, including:

  • Leading month-end reporting and ensuring accurate, timely financial information
  • Owning budgeting, forecasting and ongoing performance analysis
  • Business partnering with senior operational stakeholders
  • Analysing costs, margins and operational variances to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Providing insight around labour, materials and broader operating expenditure
  • Supporting commercial and operational decision-making through financial modelling and analysis
  • Overseeing inventory, working capital and fixed assets
  • Managing Capex planning, tracking and financial governance
  • Maintaining and developing a robust financial control environment
  • Supporting improvements across finance processes and reporting
  • Managing and developing a small finance team

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
