Company Description
Create Streets Foundation is a registered charity conducting award-winning research into the impact of urban form on human wellbeing. We educate and empower neighbourhood groups to put our findings into practice - from summer schools to community-led placemaking projects across the UK. We maintain a warm, collaborative culture focused on our shared mission: creating beautiful places that future generations will want to reuse and love.
Role Description
We’re a small team with a big mission. If you’re looking for a large finance department to hide in, this isn’t it. If you want to own the whole picture in an organisation doing genuinely important work, read on. We’re entering one of the most exciting phases in our history and we need the right person to help us scale. This is a genuinely varied role at the heart of everything we do - navigating complex fund accounting across restricted and unrestricted funds, supporting our first independent audit next year, ensuring robust governance and compliance, and providing the financial infrastructure that underpins our growing fundraising activity. The role is equally hands-on, including day-to-day bookkeeping in Xero, and suits someone who takes pride in getting both the strategic and the detail right.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
