About Our Clients
Our client is a fast-growing DTC brand that designs brand-creating CE Level 2 certified protective apparel for mountain biking, motocross, and snow sports. Their mission is to build protective gear that looks like everyday clothing while delivering serious protection when it matters most.
They are looking for a hands-on Head of Finance to build and own the company’s finance function, providing leadership with a real-time view of cash flow, profitability, inventory, financing, and overall financial health.
This is a full-time role and you will work directly with the founders and own the finance function end to end—from daily cash management and month-end close to forecasting, financing, payroll, tax, and investor readiness.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain daily finance dashboards and live cash flow models covering revenue, spend, cash position, contribution margin, PO schedules, debt, and advertising spend.
- Own company-level and channel-level P&Ls, ensuring costs such as manufacturing, freight, fulfillment, creators, contractors, and operating expenses are accurately categorized and reported.
- Manage the month-end close process in QuickBooks Online and oversee outsourced bookkeeping partners to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Own banking and cash management, including account reconciliation, vendor payments, wires, payment methods, and banking relationships.
- Manage payroll through Gusto or a similar platform, including employee onboarding, salary adjustments, off-cycle payroll, and worker classification.
- Source, negotiate, and manage credit facilities and financing options, including bank lines of credit, revenue-based financing, and platform credit facilities.
- Develop financial forecasts and scenarios to support inventory purchasing, advertising spend, financing decisions, and working capital planning.
- Partner closely with operations and supply chain teams to model PO deposits, supplier payment terms, freight costs, landed COGS, inventory purchases, and product margins.
- Manage sales tax, contractor invoicing, accrual accounting, and other finance-related compliance requirements, bringing in external specialists when appropriate.
- Maintain investor- and diligence-ready financial records, projections, and supporting documentation.
- Provide fast, actionable financial guidance to leadership and respond quickly to urgent cash flow, payment, or financing issues.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
