We are partnered with a high-performing boutique investment firm that has a VC arm, focused on young tech businesses, and a RE investment arm. As the platform continues to grow, they are looking to hire a Head of Finance who will oversee Portfolio Monitoring and Group Finance.

This is a broad, analytically focused role at the intersection of finance, investment and operations. It has strong visibility across the platform and regular interaction with senior stakeholders. The successful candidate will develop a detailed understanding of the funds and underlying investments, supporting a wide range of analytical work including portfolio company data, valuations (working with outsourced teams who prepare these), performance analysis, ESG reporting and broader ad hoc requests from across the business. This will also cover group reporting for the investment firm on a periodic basis. Given the boutique nature of the firm, it is important to be comfortable in a hands-on role.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
