Shape financial strategy at the heart of the UK's nuclear regulator

How do you turn complex financial information into clear insight that helps senior leaders make better decisions?

At the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR), we're looking for a Head of Finance Business Partnering to lead our Finance Business Partnering function and play a key role in shaping financial strategy, resource allocation and organisational decision-making.

This is a senior leadership opportunity offering regular exposure to ONR's senior leadership and Board, with the opportunity to influence how resources are managed across an organisation with an important public purpose.

The role

Leading the Finance Business Partnering team, you'll develop a trusted, forward-looking finance service that provides meaningful insight and challenge to senior budget holders.

  • Take ownership of organisation-wide budget setting, monitoring, forecasting and management reporting, ensuring financial performance, risks and opportunities are clearly understood.
  • Regularly present financial information and recommendations to senior leadership and the Board, translating complex analysis into clear, actionable insight.
  • Work strategically with senior stakeholders to strengthen financial control, improve decision-making and ensure value for money, while leading continuous improvement across finance systems, reporting, processes and capability.
  • As a senior member of the finance function, also deputise for the Head of Finance when required.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
