Head of Finance Change

Are you an experienced change and transformation leader who can turn an ambitious vision into meaningful and sustainable change? Can you bring together technology, processes, data and people to create a Finance function equipped for the future?

We are looking for a Head of Finance Change to lead and deliver our Finance transformation programme across Bettys & Taylors Group. Successful transformation is about more than implementing new systems or redesigning processes. It requires clear purpose, thoughtful leadership and a strong understanding of how people experience and adopt change.

You will work with leaders and teams across the Group to build commitment, address barriers and ensure new approaches become embedded in everyday working practices. You will create clarity around why change is needed, establish meaningful measures of success and ensure that transformation delivers tangible benefits for colleagues and the business.

You will also help develop the skills and confidence required within finance for its future operating model, including the development of continuous learning through our Group-wide approach to building skills and capability.

This is a broad and influential leadership role, responsible for shaping and executing a multi-year programme that will modernise the Group Finance landscape, improve operational efficiency and strengthen data-driven decision-making. You will lead specialist teams and work across organisational boundaries to ensure transformation initiatives deliver measurable and lasting value.

As a member of the Group Finance Leadership Team, you will bring your knowledge of transformation, technology, systems and emerging practice to help shape the Group Finance strategy. You will also share collective responsibility for embedding the strategy, leading priority change programmes and creating effective ways of working across finance.

The Role

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Defining and executing a multi-year Finance change roadmap aligned with strategic business needs and Finance priorities.
  • Overseeing a portfolio of change initiatives, proactively managing dependencies, risks, issues, budgets and delivery.
  • Setting and delivering the strategy and lifecycle approach for finance-owned systems.
  • Working with finance leaders and Learning and Development, lead the development of skills within Group Finance, building a continuous skills-development programme aligned with finance career pathways and future capability needs.
  • Transforming, simplifying, standardising and automating end-to-end finance processes while embedding appropriate controls and consistency.
  • Establishing and governing finance data processes and frameworks to support data integrity, quality, compliance and effective decision-making.
  • Providing leadership oversight for the Group-wide project management team.
  • Championing continuous improvement and helping colleagues adopt new technologies, processes and ways of working.
  • Defining meaningful KPIs and success measures for finance change initiatives, using performance insight to track progress and adjust delivery where necessary.
  • Building strong external networks and maintaining an informed view of emerging technologies and market developments.
  • Translating external insight and the “art of the possible” into practical solutions that add value to the Group.
  • Contributing knowledge, experience and constructive challenge as a member of the Group Finance Leadership Team, helping shape and embed the wider Group Finance strategy.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
