Head Finance

Dartmouth Partners are seeking a commercially strong Head Finance to lead the core finance function within a fast-paced, private equity-backed, global digital client undergoing significant transformation. This will report directly into the Group CFO and play a key role in the value creation plan, overseeing a large finance team, including M&A initiatives, FP&A and Business Partnering, including Board and C-suite interaction.

This role will take full ownership of FP&A, Business Partnering, oversight of Financial Reporting, Control, Tax, and Finance Operations, while acting as a key business partner to the executive team, board, and investors. Reporting to the CFO/CEO and Chief of Staff, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to broaden their remit over time, with clear progression to a Finance Director role as the business moves towards a PE exit. This will suit a Head of Finance, or Head of FP&A/Commercial Finance Business Partner/Senior Finance Manager who wants to broaden their remit from purely commercial finance or FP&A.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
