I am currently recruiting for a leading Housing Association based near Epsom for an interim Assistant Head of Finance. The role will be for 6 to 9 months supporting and leading the finance team during a time of change.
Responsibilities
- The annual business planning process with delivery of the annual budget ensuring Board approval to deadline.
- Monitor financial performance and take action to manage variances.
- Provide accurate monthly reporting to Executive and Leadership Teams.
- Provide financial advice to senior leaders and budget holders.
- Support services to manage budgets, risks and performance.
- Ensure statutory accounts are prepared and approved in line with standards and deadlines.
- Manage the external audit process and ensure outcomes are addressed.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Manage treasury activities, including funding, cashflow and financial risk.
- Lead internal audit planning and ensure actions are completed.

Requirements
The successful candidate will be a real leader of people and a strong finance business partner to the SLT. Previous experience within a Housing Association would be highly desirable or experience in a regulated industry could be considered. Strong team management experience with the ability to mentor, coach and develop an existing team is essential for the position.
