Head of Finance
London | Hybrid Working
Build the Finance Function. Shape the Business. Become the Future CFO.
A highly entrepreneurial investment and trading business is seeking its first dedicated finance leader to partner directly with the founders and help build the next phase of growth.
This is not a traditional corporate finance role.
This is an opportunity to take complete ownership of finance within a profitable, fast-growing firm operating across sophisticated global markets. You will have a genuine seat at the table, helping influence strategic decisions while building the financial infrastructure that supports a scaling business.
If you're excited by creating rather than maintaining, solving complex problems, working alongside exceptional people and having a visible impact on business performance, this role offers a rare career opportunity.
The Opportunity
As the firm's first senior finance hire, you will own the entire finance function across multiple entities and jurisdictions.
- Working directly with the founders and commercial leadership team, you will establish best-in-class reporting, controls, treasury, forecasting and governance processes while acting as a trusted strategic adviser to the business.
- You will enjoy significant autonomy, broad responsibility and the chance to build a function from first principles.
- This is effectively a Head of Finance role operating with CFO-level exposure and influence.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
