Head of Finance | Fast-Growth International Media Business | London/Hybrid

Harmonic is partnering exclusively with a fast-growth international media business that has doubled its revenue year on year while maintaining strong profitability. Now entering an exciting phase of expansion across new markets, verticals, and revenue streams, the business is building out its finance function to match its ambition. Culturally, it's a curious, fun, high-performing environment where people push each other and work as a team.

The Role

The Head of Finance will lead the next stage of the finance function: building a best-in-class team and infrastructure, strengthening financial reporting and controls, and providing the commercial insight needed to help the business scale sustainably.

This is a genuinely hands-on role, you'll run FP&A directly for the first 6-12 months before bringing in dedicated resource, while also operating at a strategic, board-facing level.

The ideal candidate will have experience in businesses across both the US and UK, as well as those that have scaled past £20m+ in revenue, so you're comfortable with the pace and needs of a business on that journey.

Responsibilities

  • Own the annual budget and rolling forecast process, building bottom-up by department, revenue stream, and contribution margin.
  • Run monthly management accounts, board reporting packs, and the monthly finance and business review, translating the numbers into a clear commercial narrative for leadership and the board.
  • Maintain rigorous cash flow forecasting across UK and US entities, managing banking, intercompany transfer pricing, and FX exposure between GBP and USD.
  • Partner with sales and commercial leadership on pricing strategy, minimum deal sizes, packaging, and margin guardrails as the business scales.
  • Own revenue recognition accuracy and consistency between the CRM and the ledger, catching scope creep and cost overruns on custom deals before they erode margin.
  • Work with RevOps and sales leadership on pipeline-to-revenue accuracy, forecast attainment, and resourcing decisions grounded in the numbers.
  • Lead and develop the finance team, with a mandate to build out reporting infrastructure and automate reconciliation and month-end close using AI tools.
  • Ad hoc tasks to support the CFO and Executive team

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
