Head of Finance & Operations
The Opportunity
We're recruiting for a Head of Finance & Operations to join a fast-growing B2B SaaS company. This is a hands-on, commercially-focused role that offers a rare combination: direct partnership with the CEO and Board exposure while remaining embedded in the day-to-day execution.
You'll evolve and sophisticate the current finance and operations function while building out a small team around you. This is a role for someone who thrives operating at multiple levels: rolling up your sleeves on execution while shaping board-level thinking and business strategy. If you're excited by the challenge of scaling an operation from the ground up, this is the opportunity.
What You'll Own
Financial Leadership & Planning
- Own the full finance cycle: month-end close, forecasting, budgeting, cash management, and year-end preparation
- Produce board-ready reporting and management dashboards that drive business decisions
- Lead financial analysis and modelling for strategic projects (fundraising, M&A, growth initiatives)
- Oversee day-to-day operations: billing, receivables, payables, expenses
- Manage tax, statutory filings, and external advisor relationships
Commercial & Operational Execution
- Manage customer and supplier contracts: review, negotiation support, approvals, execution
- Partner with Sales and Customer Success on commercial strategy and terms
- Own HR administration: employee documentation, lifecycle management, payroll coordination, right-to-work
- Lead office and facilities operations, vendor management, and insurance
- Drive process improvements and system enhancements as the company scales

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
