Head of Finance

Corby | £85,000 – £90,000 | On-site | Permanent

We are recruiting an experienced Head of Finance to join a growing, entrepreneurial business based in Corby.

This is a key senior leadership appointment, reporting directly to the Managing Director and taking full ownership of the finance function. It is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded finance leader who enjoys being close to the business, influencing decision-making and helping shape the next stage of growth.

This is not a role for someone who wants to sit purely at a strategic level. You will combine strong financial leadership with a hands-on approach, ensuring robust controls and accurate reporting while providing meaningful commercial insight across the business.

The Role

As Head of Finance, you will:

  • Lead and develop the finance function, taking overall responsibility for financial management across the business
  • Act as a trusted commercial partner to the Managing Director and wider leadership team
  • Own monthly management accounts, budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow planning
  • Develop meaningful KPIs and reporting to improve visibility of business performance
  • Analyse customer, product and operational profitability
  • Work closely with sales and operations around revenue, pricing, margins and commercial decisions
  • Identify opportunities to improve profitability, gross margin and operational efficiency
  • Take ownership of cash flow and working capital
  • Strengthen financial controls, processes and procedures as the business continues to grow
  • Oversee statutory accounts, VAT, tax and year-end requirements
  • Manage relationships with auditors, banks and external advisers
  • Review and improve finance systems, processes and automation
  • Lead, develop and support the finance team

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Experience gained within manufacturing, packaging, distribution, FMCG or another operationally focused business would be advantageous.

This would particularly suit someone who enjoys working within a fast-moving, growing business where they can make a visible impact rather than simply maintaining an established finance function.
