Head of Finance | High-Impact Healthcare Charity

Location: London (Hybrid: 2 days in office)

Salary: circa £85,000 p.a. + Excellent Benefits

Goodman Masson are delighted to partner with an influential London-based healthcare charity to recruit a forward-thinking Head of Finance. As the charity prepares to transition into its next ambitious five-year strategy, this crucial leadership role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of its finance function. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, you will drive strategic financial control, deliver high-quality commercial analysis, and lead the team's data, digital, and AI innovation agenda.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Financial Control & Governance: Oversee robust financial controls, reporting, audit, tax, and compliance, providing high-level advice to Trustees and Committee members.
  • Performance & Business Partnering: Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning, partnering across the organisation to enhance insight and decision-making.
  • Digital & AI Leadership: Champion the adoption of emerging AI, data analytics, and digital tools, while managing systems including Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and Salesforce.
  • Team & Organisational Leadership: Lead and empower direct reports (including the Assistant Financial Controller and Finance Business Partner), fostering a collaborative, continuous-improvement culture.

Who We Are Looking For:

  • Qualification: Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) with post-qualification experience in a senior finance leadership role.
  • Leadership & Strategy: Strong track record in financial planning, budgeting, team management, and senior stakeholder business partnering.
  • Innovation Mindset: A genuine curiosity and appetite for technology, data-driven transformation, and process automation.
  • Sector Context: Charity or not-for-profit sector experience (including Charity SORP) is advantageous, though strong commercial candidates with an improvement-led mindset are welcomed.

What's on Offer:

  • Competitive Package: circa £85k base salary, 10% employer pension contribution, 30 days annual leave (+ bank holidays), private healthcare, and season ticket loan.
