The Opportunity
Our client is a growing SME technology business with operations across the UK, US and Europe. The business has seen year on year growth with plans to expand further within the US market. The business is seeking an experienced Head of Finance to take ownership of its day-to-day finance function and support its next stage of development.
Reporting directly to the CFO, you will lead all financial reporting, control and planning activities alongside business partnering with executive stakeholders.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring someone equally comfortable producing the numbers, improving processes and providing meaningful commercial insight.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the complete finance function, reporting directly to the CFO
- Produce accurate monthly management accounts, forecasts and board reporting
- Lead the annual budgeting and longer-term financial planning processes
- Manage cash flow, working capital and treasury requirements
- Oversee statutory accounts, audit, tax and regulatory compliance
- Maintain a robust financial-control environment across the business
- Provide financial analysis and commercial insight to senior stakeholders
- Partner with operational leaders to improve performance and accountability
- Develop KPIs and reporting that provide greater visibility over revenue, margins and costs
- Review and improve finance systems, processes and reporting
- Support commercial negotiations, investment decisions and growth initiatives
- Lead, develop and manage the finance team
- Deputise for the CFO when required

Successful Candidate
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
- An experienced Head of Finance, Financial Controller or Finance Director
- Previous experience within an SME or entrepreneurial environment
- Strong technical accounting, financial control and management-reporting experience
- Comfortable remaining hands-on while leading the wider finance function
- Commercially minded with the ability to challenge and influence senior stakeholders
- Experience improving finance systems, controls and reporting processes
- Confident operating within a growing and evolving business
