The Opportunity

Eton Bridge Partners have been retained on a search to appoint a Head of Finance Operations for a global software business. The business operates a remote-first model, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere in the UK while collaborating with colleagues across an international team.

You will be responsible for enhancing processes and controls, and ensuring the function is equipped to support the next phase of growth. This role requires someone who can balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery, bringing both leadership and execution to the table.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop an international finance operations and shared services team.
  • Create a scalable, best-in-class finance operations function capable of supporting future growth.
  • Drive operational excellence across all transactional finance processes, including: Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash, Record-to-Report, and billing and revenue operations
  • Lead finance transformation initiatives focused on process improvement, efficiency and scalability.
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities across the finance function.
  • Champion the adoption of AI technologies and modern ways of working.
  • Partner closely with senior finance leadership to modernise systems, controls and governance.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and service excellence across a geographically dispersed team.

Candidate Profile

  • ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualified accountant.
  • Proven experience leading finance operations, transactional finance or shared services functions.
  • Experience managing teams across multiple locations within an international business.
  • Strong background in AP, AR, billing and wider finance operations.
  • Track record of delivering transformation, process improvement and automation initiatives.
  • A hands-on leader who is willing to roll up their sleeves when needed and lead from the front.
  • Comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy, taking ownership of decisions and driving initiatives through to completion.
  • Naturally proactive, with a bias for action and a passion for improving processes, systems and ways of working.
  • Experience within software, technology, SaaS or other recurring revenue business models would be advantageous.
  • Experience working in a high-growth, fast-paced environment.
