Role Overview

A.L.O.B. Ltd is looking for an experienced, commercially focused, and hands-on Head of Finance Operations to lead our end-to-end supply chain, including stock planning, international freight, 3PL fulfilment, and customer service.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a high-volume e-commerce business, ideally £5m–£20m turnover, and be comfortable managing the operational challenges of a fast-moving, growing business.

The successful candidate will be expected to get into the detail, identify problems quickly, and put simple, effective processes and controls in place.

Key Responsibilities

Stock & Supply Chain

  • Own stock forecasting, purchasing, and replenishment across the business.
  • Maintain strong stock availability, accuracy, and visibility.
  • Reduce excess and slow-moving stock through effective stock management.

Freight & 3PL

  • Manage international freight and 3PL performance from supplier through to fulfilment.
  • Ensure partners deliver against agreed costs, KPIs, and SLAs.
  • Resolve issues quickly and continually improve cost, efficiency, and service.

Customer Service

  • Lead Customer Service and maintain high service standards.
  • Monitor key metrics including enquiries, response times, returns, and complaints.
  • Resolve escalations and address the root causes of recurring issues.

Operational Control & Improvement

  • Own clear operational KPIs and reporting across all key areas.
  • Identify operational issues and take ownership through to resolution.
  • Continually improve processes, systems, costs, and service levels.

What We Are Looking For

E-commerce experience is important for this role. We are particularly interested in candidates who have worked in a high-volume, multi-channel e-commerce business with turnover in the region of £5m–£20m and understand the operational challenges that come with growth.

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Qualified ACA, CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent with 2-5 years PQE+
  • At least 5 years’ experience in senior Operations, Supply Chain, or Logistics role.
  • Strong e-commerce and direct-to-consumer experience.
  • Hands-on experience of stock forecasting and inventory management.
  • Experience managing the following areas:
    • 3PL warehouse and fulfilment operation.
    • International freight, suppliers, and imports.
    • Couriers, delivery performance, and logistics costs.
    • Customer Service.
  • Strong commercial and analytical skills with confidence using data and Excel.
  • A track record of improving processes, reducing costs, and improving service levels.

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Accountable – takes ownership of problems through to resolution.
  • Tenacious – prepared to challenge suppliers, warehouses, and carriers when performance is not good enough.
  • Process-driven – able to introduce simple processes and controls that people actually use.
  • Customer-focused – understands that the ultimate measure of Operations is whether we deliver what we promised to the customer.

Location: Woking office – Hybrid working

Hours: Full Time

Department: Operations

Salary: £70,000 - £80,000 + Bonus (dependent upon experience)
