Are you a commercially minded finance leader looking for an opportunity to take ownership of a finance function within a growing, investor-backed business?
Robert Walters is partnering with a growing UK property investment business to recruit a Group Head of Finance.
As the business continues to expand its property portfolio and investor base, this newly appointed senior leadership position offers the opportunity to shape the finance function, strengthen financial controls and play a key role in supporting the Group's next stage of growth.
Reporting to the CEO, you will take ownership of the Group's financial operations across multiple companies and property-owning entities, combining hands-on financial management with strategic commercial support to the Board and senior leadership team.
Key responsibilities
- Take full ownership of the Group finance function, overseeing financial reporting, statutory accounts, VAT, compliance and financial controls across multiple entities.
- Deliver accurate monthly management accounts, consolidated financial reporting, cash-flow forecasts and Board reporting.
- Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process, providing commercial insight to support investment decisions, property acquisitions and portfolio growth.
- Manage Group cash flow, treasury activities and investor dividend distributions, ensuring accurate reporting and appropriate financial controls.
- Develop and maintain financial models covering property acquisitions, rental yields, investment returns and long-term portfolio performance.
- Support equity fundraising, investor due diligence and property transactions, working closely with the CEO and external advisers.
- Oversee relationships with external accountants, auditors, tax advisers and other professional partners.
- Drive improvements in financial systems, processes and reporting, building a scalable finance function to support future growth.

About you
We are looking for a qualified accountant who combines strong technical accounting expertise with commercial acumen and a hands-on approach to finance leadership.
You will ideally bring:
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification, with significant post-qualification experience.
- Experience leading or taking substantial ownership of a finance function within a growing, multi-entity business.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, including group consolidations, intercompany accounting, statutory reporting, VAT and financial controls.
- Proven experience delivering management accounts, budgets, cash-flow forecasts and Board-level reporting.
- Advanced Excel and financial-modelling skills, with the ability to translate financial information into meaningful commercial insight.
- Experience working closely with senior leadership teams, investors and external professional advisers.
- A proactive, commercially focused approach, with the ability to operate strategically while remaining comfortable working through the detail.

Experience within property investment, real estate, private equity, investment management or another investor-backed environment would be particularly advantageous. Exposure to fundraising, investor reporting, dividend distributions or property transactions would also be highly desirable.
