Head of Finance

As the Head of Finance, you'll oversee the financial operations and reporting to keep the business running smoothly and efficiently. This role in the energy infrastructure space requires a hands-on approach to managing budgets, forecasting, and ensuring compliance.

Client Details

This role is with a company in the infrastructure space, primarily based out of London.

Description

  • Manage and oversee all financial operations, including budgeting and forecasting.
  • Prepare accurate financial reports and present them to stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies to support business growth.
  • Lead and mentor the finance team to achieve departmental goals.
  • Monitor and manage cash flow, ensuring financial stability.
  • Collaborate with other departments to align financial planning with business objectives.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to improve financial performance.

Profile

  • Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
  • Proven experience in a Head of Finance, Financial Controller or number one finance role in a project-based SME.
  • Project accounting experience - this is non-negotiable given the nature of our work.
  • Experience with construction industry VAT and CIS requirements.
  • Proven people manager who can get the best out of a small team.
  • Strong track record in finance automation and process improvement.
  • Experience working alongside project managers and integrating finance into operational workflows.
  • Advanced Excel skills and sharp attention to detail.
