Head of Finance Rolling Stock UK&I

We are seeking a visionary Head of Finance RSC UK&I to lead financial strategy and governance for our Rolling Stock Centre in Derby. This role calls for a leader who thrives on complexity, drives operational excellence, and partners with cross-functional teams to deliver sustainable growth and long-term value creation.
Your Role, Your Impact
Financial Management and Controlling
- Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis to support scalability and alignment with Alstom’s strategic objectives.
- Act as a key financial business partner to the Site Managing Director and management team, providing insights, guidance, and data-driven recommendations.
- Monitor and forecast key financial and QCD (Quality, Cost, Delivery) indicators, ensuring effective cost control and performance optimisation.
- Validate and challenge financial data, risk assessments, variance analyses, and operational assumptions to drive informed decision-making.
- Support investment decisions, restructuring initiatives, capacity expansion plans, and continuous improvement through robust financial analysis and predictive forecasting.
- Ensure financial reporting reliability, compliance, and strong internal controls through SAP-based systems and Alstom financial guidelines.

Reporting and Coordination
- Collect, consolidate, analyse, and validate financial data to deliver accurate budgets, forecasts, and performance insights.
- Ensure financial processes and systems comply with internal controls, external requirements, and Alstom reporting standards.
- Liaise with regional controllers and country Finance Director to report results, share insights, and drive corrective actions.
Management
- Lead and develop the site controlling team while coordinating planning, budgeting, and target-setting activities to deliver accurate financial data, resource plans, and budgets.
What You Bring
- Expertise in financial management within large-scale industrial or manufacturing environments.
- External Audit, Site Control or Project Control experience.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to translate large financial data and insights into strategic business recommendations.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams through transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organisation and with staff at remote locations essential.
- Strong problem-solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
- Strong Management skills.
