Robert Walters - Head of Finance - Permanent - Hybrid Working - West Midlands - £80,000 - £110,000 + Benefits

A well-established and highly regarded organisation is seeking an experienced finance leader to oversee a substantial management accounting function and contribute to the ongoing success of the wider finance leadership team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified finance professional to lead a high-performing team, enhance reporting capabilities, strengthen financial governance, and provide strategic financial insight to support business objectives. The successful individual will work closely with senior stakeholders across the organisation, driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach and develop a finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and professional growth.
  • Oversee the preparation and delivery of accurate and timely management accounts across multiple business areas.
  • Ensure robust month-end reporting processes and adherence to key reporting timelines.
  • Analyse financial performance, identifying trends, risks and opportunities to support strategic objectives.
  • Produce meaningful financial reporting and business insights for senior leadership teams.
  • Partner with operational and commercial stakeholders to improve financial understanding and support decision-making.
  • Drive process optimisation, automation initiatives and reporting improvements across the finance function.
  • Maintain and strengthen financial controls, governance frameworks and balance sheet integrity.
  • Support executive-level reporting, business planning and strategic financial analysis.
  • Play an active role in the development of the broader finance function and leadership community.

Candidate Profile

  • Professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Demonstrable experience operating within a senior finance leadership capacity.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop successful finance teams.
  • Strong technical expertise across management accounting, financial reporting and financial controls.
  • Experience delivering finance transformation, process improvement and change programmes.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence senior decision-makers.
