Head of Finance Technology - Black Sheep Coffee
Job Title: Head of Finance Technology
Location: Southwark Street, London
Reports to: Interim Data Analytics & Systems Director
Department: Data & Analytics
Employment Type: Full-time
Salary: Up To £80,000 depending on experience
Role Overview
Black Sheep Coffee is seeking an experienced and commercially minded finance technology leader to join the business as Head of Finance Technology and lead the development of our Finance systems, data, and automation capability.
Based at our Southwark Street HQ in London and reporting to the Interim Data Analytics & Systems Director, this role will sit within the Data & Analytics team and work in close partnership with the Finance Director and wider Finance team.
The role will be responsible for improving the technology and data infrastructure that supports Finance across Black Sheep Coffee, with NetSuite at the centre of the Finance systems landscape. The successful candidate will improve how financial data flows between systems, automate manual processes, strengthen controls, and build more reliable, repeatable, and auditable reporting.
This is a hands-on role. The successful candidate must have sufficient technical capability to work independently across SQL, reporting, APIs, integrations, and automation, whilst collaborating with the wider Data & Analytics team on more complex requirements.
Finance will retain ownership of accounting policy, financial judgement, controls, and sign-off. This role will provide the systems, data, and technology capability that enables Finance to operate more effectively as Black Sheep Coffee continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities
Finance Systems & NetSuite
- Take responsibility for the development and optimisation of Black Sheep Coffee's Finance systems landscape, with NetSuite as the core ERP.
- Maintain a clear Finance Systems & Data roadmap in partnership with the Interim Data Analytics & Systems Director and Finance Director.
- Understand and improve how transactions move from operational systems through NetSuite into the General Ledger, financial reporting, and management information.
- Identify system gaps, manual dependencies, and control weaknesses and implement practical, scalable solutions.
- Manage Finance-related system changes, integrations, upgrades, testing, and documentation.
Finance Data, Reporting & Integrations
- Bring core Finance data into Black Sheep Coffee's central data and reporting environment.
- Build and maintain reliable Finance reporting tables, data models, and controlled SQL-based logic.
- Reduce reliance on repeated NetSuite exports, large Excel models, and manually maintained reporting.
- Connect financial and operational data across stores, suppliers, inventory, payments, and other business systems.
- Ensure key Finance reporting can be traced from source transaction through transformation and reconciliation to final output.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
