Head of Finance

We’re looking for a Head of Finance to lead our financial management, governance and resources, helping to ensure Surrey Community Action is financially strong and well equipped to support charities, communities and people across Surrey.

About the Role

You’ll lead on the financial management of Surrey Community Action ensuring our finances are well managed and our statutory and regulatory responsibilities are met. You’ll oversee accounts, audit, payroll, pensions, investments, insurance and financial risk, while providing clear and trusted advice to our Chief Executive, Treasurer and Trustees.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the financial management of Surrey Community Action
  • Ensure finances are well managed and statutory and regulatory responsibilities are met
  • Oversee accounts, audit, payroll, pensions, investments, insurance, and financial risk
  • Provide clear and trusted advice to the Chief Executive, Treasurer, and Trustees
  • Contribute to the wider strategic direction of Surrey Community Action
  • Help make the most of resources, identify opportunities to improve efficiency, and develop income
  • Oversee contracts and tenders
  • Work with colleagues on office and IT infrastructure
  • Act as Company Secretary

Requirements

  • Manage and support the Finance Assistant
  • Work closely with colleagues across the organization
  • Develop financial tools and services to support other charities and community groups
  • Strong financial charity management experience
  • Sound judgement
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate confidently with people at all levels
