Head of Finance - UK & Ireland

We’re looking for an experienced and commercially driven Head of UK Finance to lead the finance function across the UK & Ireland. This is a key leadership role, providing strategic and operational financial guidance to drive profitability, performance, and cash generation within a high-growth, CNS-focused pharmaceutical company, operating in a dynamic, fast-paced environment following several successful recent product launches.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a strategic partner to the Leadership Team, contributing to key business decisions
  • Provide robust KPIs and financial insights to support decision-making
  • Lead financial reporting for Group Management
  • Drive performance analysis vs. budget and prior years, implementing corrective actions where required
  • Optimise cashflow, including ownership of forecasting and working capital management
  • Oversee tax reporting and support tax optimisation initiatives
  • Ensure strong financial controls and risk management processes are in place
  • Support compliance activities as a member of the Compliance Committee
  • Lead the full finance function, ensuring all statutory and regulatory obligations are met
  • Own the budgeting and MRP process, ensuring alignment with group standards and reporting requirements

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a senior finance leadership role (e.g. Head of Finance, Financial Controller, Finance Manager)
  • Experience within the pharmaceutical industry is highly desirable
  • Minimum of 7-10 years’ financial accounting experience
  • Experience working within multinational organisations
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, controls, and business processes
  • Experience working with ERP systems and finance platforms
  • Advanced Excel and strong Microsoft Office capability
  • Strong communicator, with the ability to influence cross-functionally
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to build and lead high-performing teams
  • Strong understanding of financial regulations and compliance
