Role Description

The Head of Finance is a full-time, hybrid role based in Belford, with flexibility for some work from home. This role oversees all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and cash flow management to support the company’s creative projects and overall strategic goals.

  • Prepare and review financial statements
  • Monitor project costs and margins
  • Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end close
  • Maintain robust internal controls
  • Analyze financial performance
  • Provide data-driven insights to senior leadership
  • Manage relationships with external accountants and auditors
  • Support compliance with relevant regulations
  • Lead and develop finance processes, tools, and, where applicable, team members to improve efficiency and financial visibility across the organization

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Finance and the preparation and interpretation of Financial Statements
  • Experience in Financial Reporting, including management reports, variance analysis, and performance dashboards
  • Proficiency in Budgeting and forecasting, with the ability to manage budgets for multiple projects and departments
  • Advanced Analytical Skills, with the ability to translate financial data into clear insights and recommendations
  • Prior experience in a senior finance leadership role, preferably within creative, production, or project-based environments
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and relevant financial regulations; experience with modern accounting and ERP tools
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with both creative and operational teams
  • Proven ability to operate in a hybrid work model, manage priorities independently, and drive continuous improvement
  • Professional qualification in finance or accounting (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or a relevant degree is highly beneficial
