Head of Finance – VetSpeed
Vetspeed, a £25m fast-growing business specialising in B2B and B2C pet cremation services and hazardous waste management in the UK, is seeking a commercially minded Head of Finance to accelerate its growth.
About the Role
As Head of Finance, you will:
- Drive financial performance and support strategic decision-making.
- Report directly to the CFO, combining financial management with business insight.
- Collaborate with operational and commercial teams to translate data into actionable KPIs and plans.
- Oversee financial forecasting, planning, and budget execution.
- Ensure financial accuracy and efficiency through process improvements and month-end closures.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading financial analysis for revenue, margins, and profitability.
- Developing dashboard analytics and data visualisation tools.
- Managing the monthly close process with an offshore financial team (AP/AR).
- Presenting monthly performance reviews and variance analyses.
- Leading post-acquisition integration of financial accounts.
- Outsourcing and managing payroll.
- Overseeing a team of 2-3.

Responsibilities
The role demands:
- Commercial finance expertise with strong analytical abilities.
- Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, and FP&A.
- Expertise in business process improvements and risk analysis.
- Familiarity with corporate investments, tenders, and ROI evaluations preferred.
- Stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration.
- Technical oversight of dashboards, Excel modelling, and Oracle systems.
Requirements
Candidates should have:
- A qualified accountancy designation (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- 4+ years' experience in Finance Business Partnering, FP&A, or management accounting.
- Strong data storytelling and analytical storytelling skills.
- Accurate, detail-oriented mindset with database and Excel mastery.
- Experience working in Oracle ERP is a plus.
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders and sell ideas effectively.
