The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified finance professional to join a growing organisation in a highly visible leadership role. Reporting to the Group Finance Director, you will take ownership of all finance operations for the financial operations of one of the divisions, leading a small team while partnering closely with senior operational and finance stakeholders across the business.
The position offers a unique blend of operational finance, team leadership and business partnering within a fast-paced and evolving environment.
Main Duties
- Lead all finance operations for the division, ensuring strong financial controls and efficient processes.
- Own the month-end close process, delivering accurate management information and reporting.
- Oversee revenue recognition, funding compliance and financial governance across the division.
- Manage and develop a small finance team, providing coaching, support and leadership.
- Partner closely with senior operational stakeholders to ensure data integrity and minimise compliance risk.
- Review financial reconciliations and ensure the accuracy of related reporting and funding data.
- Drive continuous improvement across finance processes, controls and systems.
- Support wider group reporting requirements and cross-functional finance projects.
- Act as a key contact for auditors, regulators and other external stakeholders where required.

The Successful Candidate
- ACA or ACCA qualified.
- Previous experience within education, apprenticeships, training, further education or a similar environment.
- Strong operational finance experience, including controls, reconciliations and month-end processes.
- Experience managing, mentoring and developing finance teams.
- Excellent stakeholder management and business partnering skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience supporting finance systems and process improvements.
- NetSuite experience would be advantageous.
