Role Description
The Head of Finance is a full-time, remote role responsible for leading all financial planning, reporting, and control activities for Bono Energy. This role oversees the preparation and analysis of financial statements, manages budgeting and forecasting cycles, and ensures accurate, timely financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders. The Head of Finance will develop and implement finance policies, monitor cash flow and liquidity, and support strategic decision-making through data-driven financial insights.

Daily responsibilities include:

- Supervising finance team members
- Maintaining compliance with relevant regulations and standards
- Collaborating with other departments on project and investment evaluations
- Improving financial systems and processes
The role also involves:
- Partnering with leadership to assess risk, optimize capital allocation, and support long-term business growth
Qualifications
- Strong finance and analytical skills, with experience in corporate finance and data-driven decision-making.
- Proficiency in financial statements and financial reporting, including consolidation and variance analysis.
- Demonstrated experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
- Ability to design and improve financial controls, policies, and procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Leadership experience managing finance teams, including mentoring, performance management, and workload prioritization.
- Advanced proficiency with financial software and tools (e.g., ERP systems, spreadsheets, reporting platforms).
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CFA) are an advantage.
- Experience in the energy or infrastructure sector is beneficial, along with familiarity with international financial standards and practices.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a remote environment, demonstrating reliability, self-motivation, and collaborative working style.
