Head of Finance (Interim) – FTSE listed business
6 months, potential to go permanent
£100k–£110k
London, hybrid
Available to start between now and the next 6 weeks
I’m working with a FTSE listed business that needs an interim Head of Finance to lead its management accounts team for six months, with a real chance of the role going permanent. You’d report into the Group Financial Controller and act as their deputy.
It’s a hands-on leadership role in a busy finance function. You’ll run the management accounts team through two finance managers, own month end and the balance sheet, and play a key part in a number of projects across the business. They want someone who takes initiative, keeps good control of the numbers and builds strong relationships with people outside finance.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
