HEAD OF FINANCIAL REPORTING
Essential: Financial Reporting Leadership + Insurance
£130k-£160k + package (incl. decent bonus etc)
City of London, WFH (2 days p/wk)
Pear Talent is representing a specialist UK insurer operating as part of a major international group who have a highly visible leadership opportunity for a Head of Financial Reporting.
This person will lead the delivery of internal, statutory and regulatory financial reporting, while strengthening the financial control environment and driving greater efficiency and automation across the reporting function.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you’ll work closely with the UK CFO and senior finance leaders internationally. You’ll lead an established team and have genuine scope to improve processes, develop capability and influence how financial performance is communicated across the business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead statutory and regulatory reporting under UK GAAP and Solvency UK
- Oversee monthly US GAAP reporting to the international parent group
- Maintain a robust financial control environment, including SOX compliance
- Lead external audit relationships and coordinate audit delivery
- Improve and automate reporting processes, controls and systems
- Develop a high-performing financial reporting team
- Provide clear financial insight to senior stakeholders
ABOUT YOU
You’ll be a qualified accountant—ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent—with:
- Strong financial reporting experience within Insurance (or Director level in Insurance Audit)
- Detailed knowledge of UK GAAP or IFRS and statutory reporting
- Knowledge of Solvency II, US GAAP, SOX and financial reporting systems would be advantageous, but is not essential across every area.
- Proven experience leading and developing reporting teams
- Strong financial controls and external audit experience
- The credibility to influence CFO and senior leadership stakeholders
- A track record of improving reporting processes and operational efficiency
