Role Title: Head of Financial Analysis & Data

Division: Finance
Location: London / Liverpool / Leeds
Contract: FTC
Working pattern: Full Time

About the Role

Accountable for the strategic direction and operational effectiveness of the Group Financial Analysis, Insight & Data team. The role oversees the production and distribution of key management information, including FUMA and net flows, and leads Finance engagement with client-facing teams and senior management to support understanding of commercial performance, strategic analysis and decision-making. The role ensures that reporting is accurate, timely, well-controlled and delivered to the required quality standards.

What you’ll be responsible for

  • Lead the Financial Analysis, Insight & Data team, setting clear priorities and maintaining a culture of accuracy, collaboration, constructive challenge, integrity and right-first-time delivery.
  • Develop and maintain effective processes, policies, procedures and control frameworks for the timely and accurate production of management and financial information, particularly FUMA and net flows reporting.
  • Lead commercial analysis and business partnering for key areas of the Group, including executive management, client-facing leadership, RAM, CCO and Distribution.
  • Provide analysis and insight to support strategic decisions, corporate activity and the assessment of commercial opportunities, leading workstreams where required.
  • Lead financial pricing and remuneration analysis and support wider commercial decision-making.
  • Use business data to identify trends, explain performance and turn management information into clear, actionable commercial insight.
  • Work closely with the Group Data team on the use of data across the Group, including insight, governance, systems and controls, with particular focus on Finance requirements.
  • Oversee the production and delivery of ad hoc reporting for internal and external purposes.
  • Manage relationships with key internal stakeholders, including GEC members, business leaders and their teams.
  • Identify and deliver improvements to processes, procedures, practices and systems, working with change resources and Technology as appropriate.
  • Manage team workloads, delegation, performance, development and succession to sustain high-quality delivery against immovable deadlines.
  • Member of the leadership team for the Director of Finance. Lead team through annual performance reviews, reward with a clear focus on team development and engagement.

  • Demonstrable ability to lead, motivate and develop a team, manage competing priorities and delegate effectively under pressure.
  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to connect detailed financial and operational analysis to the wider business picture.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with a consistent focus on accuracy, quality and effective control.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management and business writing skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Confidence working with senior management and influencing decisions through evidence-based insight and constructive challenge.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret data from a range of systems using appropriate analytical and management reporting tools.
  • Knowledge of financial control and experience of maintaining and enhancing control environments, particularly for FUMA and net flows reporting.
  • Experience of sharing complex financial and management information across a broad stakeholder base.
  • Understanding of data governance, reporting systems and the effective use of business data to support insight and decision-making.
