Nuneaton | Hybrid – minimum 2 days per week
We offer hybrid working, with an expectation that you'll be present at our Holland & Barrett office in Nuneaton for a minimum of 2 days per week.
A good Financial Operations team has a rhythm to it. It's the engine room of a well-run Finance function.
People know what matters, who owns what, when to come together and where the pressure points are. And when something isn't right, it gets picked up early.
We're looking for a Head of Financial Operations to lead Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Sales & Banking and Payroll across Holland & Barrett. It's a sizeable brief: 26 people, £1bn+ in annual sales and 21 markets - and a role that sets the rhythm for how Financial Operations comes together and gets things done.
The foundations are strong. Your job is to protect what works and keep moving it forward - bringing greater consistency across the teams, simplifying processes, strengthening controls and using automation, data, technology and AI to take unnecessary work out of the system.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Sales & Banking and Payroll end to end.
- Lead a team of 26 through two direct reports, creating clear priorities, ownership and accountability.
- Bring the four areas together around shared priorities, clear ownership and consistent ways of working.
- Protect cash and working capital through effective payments, collections, reconciliations and controls.
- Look across the full AR and AP journeys to identify where processes can be simplified, standardised or automated.
- Reduce manual work, rework and exceptions while increasing straight-through processing.
- Use operational data to understand where things are getting stuck and turn that insight into action.
- Own the Financial Operations roadmap, balancing the demands of today with what needs to change tomorrow.
- Use technology and AI thoughtfully to improve productivity, control and service.
- Work closely with the Director of Financial Control, Finance Leadership Team and senior stakeholders across H&B.

What You'll Bring
- You'll know what a well-run Financial Operations team feels like.
- There's structure, but not bureaucracy. Pace, but not chaos. People have autonomy, but everyone is pulling in the same direction.
- You'll have senior leadership experience in Financial Operations, Shared Services or another high-volume transactional finance environment, with good breadth across Procure to Pay, Order to Cash, Sales & Banking and Payroll.
- You'll have led through managers and know how to create consistency across different teams - setting a clear cadence, bringing people together and making sure everyone understands how their work connects to the wider operation.
- And you'll be able to point to things you've genuinely improved: controls tightened, processes simplified, service levels raised, technology introduced or unnecessary work taken out.
- Experience in retail, consumer, e-commerce or another complex multi-site business would be useful, but it isn't essential.
