Head of Strategy & Planning
Brewer Morris is partnering with a leading global organisation to appoint a Head of Strategy & Planning into their senior finance leadership. The role is reporting directly to the CFO and has significant exposure to the executive team and Board.
The successful candidate will act as a strategic and commercial partner to senior leadership, leading financial planning, analysis and market intelligence to support the organisation’s long-term strategy. A key priority will be to modernise the global FP&A function, moving beyond traditional budgeting and reporting to deliver dynamic forecasting, scenario analysis and more forward-looking commercial insight.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance leader to join a role with a mandate to shape and improve a global finance function, lead a high-performing team and influence strategic decision-making across a complex international organisation.
For reasons that will become clear during the briefing for this role, there is a strong preference for someone that is either immediately available or available at short notice.
The role is flexible in terms of in office time though there will be an expectation that this individual will make themself available to go in the office during necessary periods and also an ability/willingness to travel when required.

Core Responsibilities:
- Lead the organisation’s global financial planning, forecasting and strategic analysis
- Develop a forward-looking FP&A operating model that delivers timely and commercially relevant insight
- Build and maintain robust financial models to support strategic planning, scenario analysis and investment decisions
- Partner with the CFO, CEO, executive leadership and Board on strategic and operational decision-making
- Translate organisational strategy into clear financial and operational plans
- Constructively challenge assumptions and provide clear analysis of risks, opportunities and commercial trade-offs
- Improve global planning processes, data quality, governance and performance measures
- Use technology, automation and AI to improve the speed, accuracy and effectiveness of financial analysis and reporting
- Lead, develop and improve a commercially focused global FP&A team
- Build a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement across the function
Required Skills and Experience:
- Significant senior-level experience across FP&A, commercial finance, strategy or corporate planning
- Qualified ACA, CIMA, ACCA (or equivalent)
- Strong financial modelling skills, including scenario planning, forecasting and investment analysis
- Proven experience leading and improving an FP&A or wider finance function within a large complex, global organisation strongly preferred.
- Demonstrable ability to manage and influence senior, complex stakeholders, including executive leadership and Board-level audiences
- Experience leading, developing and motivating high-performing finance teams
- Strong commercial judgement with the ability to balance strategic ambition, financial performance and effective controls
- Experience delivering finance transformation and improving planning, reporting and analytical capabilities
- Ability to operate effectively within a complex, international or matrix organisation
- Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to challenge senior stakeholders and present complex information clearly
- A relevant professional accounting qualification or equivalent senior finance experience
