Head of Financial Planning and Finance Business Partnering - Education sector - South London - c£75,000

This is an exciting opportunity for a senior Finance professional to join a leading Education group based in South London.

Reporting into the Group Director of Finance you will be responsible for leading their Financial Planning and Business Partnering team. Your key accountabilities will include:

  • Providing Finance Business Partnering to members of the Executive team
  • Leading and coordinating annual budget setting processes for the Finance function
  • Ensuring robust financial controls operate across the organisation, identifying and escalating any financial risks
  • Producing month end reports and finalising first draft management accounts for review by Group Director of Finance
  • Monitoring financial performance against budget and forecast
  • Coordinating Finance Business Partnering activities across the organisation
  • Overseeing the development of investment cases
  • Providing ad-hoc analysis for senior stakeholders

You need to be a senior Finance Professional with a track record of budget setting, forecasting, financial control and management accounting in further education, academies or a similarly regulated environment. You also need to have experience of leading and developing a team, finance business partnering to senior non-finance professionals and preparing reports for executive teams. Experience of identifying and managing financial risks and improving finance processes is essential. Full membership of a professional accountancy body (ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent) or demonstrable equivalent knowledge gained through experience is required.
