As part of an ambitious and evolving finance function, this is an exciting opportunity to join the senior leadership team and play a pivotal role in shaping financial planning, performance and decision-making.

The Role

Reporting to the Group Director of Finance, the Head of Financial Planning & Finance Business Partnering will lead the Financial Planning and Business Partnering teams. You will be responsible for driving high-quality financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and business partnering services, ensuring senior leaders have the insight and information needed to make informed strategic decisions.

You will work closely with colleagues across finance and operational teams to improve forecasting, strengthen financial controls, develop business cases and support key transformation initiatives across the Group. As a member of the Senior Finance Management Team, you will contribute to the wider leadership of the finance function and deputise for senior colleagues when required.

What You'll Need to Succeed

To be successful in this role, you will be a fully qualified accountant (ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent) with significant experience in financial planning, business partnering and management accounting within education, the public sector or another complex regulated environment.

You will bring:

  • Proven experience leading and developing finance teams.
  • Strong business partnering experience with senior non-finance stakeholders.
  • Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, financial control and management reporting.
  • Experience preparing reports and recommendations for executive teams, boards or governing bodies.
  • Strong financial modelling and business case development skills.
  • A track record of improving finance processes, systems and organisational performance.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and challenge stakeholders at all levels.
